How Long Can Calcium And Magnesium Supplements Be Taken?

I take Calcium Magnesium with Hawthorn for High LDL and High Blood Pressure in lieu of the doctor prescribed Lipitor because of the side effects. Muscle pain across my pectoral and back pain. My BP reading are back to normal and I have no pain. Is the Calcium Magnesium necessary?

Hello,

Since blood pressure is normal, I do not think calcium or magnesium is required. If there is side-effect with Lipitor, an alternative can be tried.

Now that everything is alright with BP then no medication is required. but monitoring of bp should be done.

Is it that you were taking calcium and magnesium after assessment? If yes then electrolyte assessment should be done and deficiency should be compensated.

If you do not have any problem now, no treatment or monitoring is required. if there is any pain or other problem now, symptomatic treatment can be given.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
