Hi,

Simply cough does not indicate asthma and so you should not give him any more medication since this medicine is a steroid. He may develop dependence. In long run may be he will not respond to the medication and will develop side effect of the drug. Duration of drug should be less to stop dependancy. Frequent change is not required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
