How Long After Having Drink Can The Course Of Metronidazole Be Started?
I had a drink tonight and im just wondering how long before i can start my corse of metronidazole. I know you cant drink on them or 48 hours after, and alcohol should be out my system soon but how long should i wait before i can take my antibiotics, as my face is very swollen and i have a fever and need to start them very soon as im very unwell
hi, In general alcohol levels in blood drops down to least with in 12-16 hours unless heavily intoxicated. you can take the drug just after that time. BUT, CAUTION!!! Metronidazole and alcohol is a bad combination and can leave you nightmares or even more serious trouble (disulfiram like reaction), so be careful; make sure metronidazole is necessary and if not specifically required, switch to another class of drug to avoid conflict with alcohol. ALL THE BEST.
