How Long After A Laminotomy Can One Go Out And Play?

I am having surgery in one week for laminotomy (partial removal of the lamina left) to relieve severe pain in my left leg (sciatica and periformis syndrome). I wanted to know if and when I could go back to weightlifting and playing tennis and racketball in the near future.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Around twelve weeks or rest is required but it varies between the patients. Consult an orthopaedician and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
