Hi I am 30 years old and have Hashimoto s. I eat a very clean diet and trying to heal my symptoms of hashis naturally. Unfortunately my immune system still seems to be compromised as I seem to get sick quite frequently these days. About a month ago I got a very bad cold with a very bad sore throat. Since then I have had recurring sore throats every other week (sometimes every few days) or so. New sore throat started tonight it feels like a month in the back of my throat. My throat is red but doesn t seem to look like the pictures of grandulsr pharyngitis I ve looked at. Does this sound like it could be grandular pharyngitis? Or maybe a sinus infection? I don t really have any sinus infection symptoms other than a headache the last week. What can i do other than taking antibiotics? I d rather heal this naturally if possible. But I m so tired of feeling bad!

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Aditi Garg's Response
Dear. Donot worry. You should start salt with warm water gargles.n u shoud consult a physician and do throat swab culture and sensitivity. Depending on the sensitivity report you should start with antibiotics. If you start proper antibiotics your throat will be cured soon. Salt water gargles only subside the inflammation. It doesnot subside the etiology.
