How Is ADHD Treated?

Hey. My son is 12 years old and he is adhd. He has been having a rough time at school this year. Refusing to do his work or taking the things he needs for school. He has spent a lot of time in ISS this year. We have been changing his medicines alot lately. I had a meeting with the counselor at his school a couple weeks ago and she told me that he is very passive. I mentioned this to his psychologist and he agreed. I ask him what I should do and he said that until my son starts caring there is nothing we can do. My question is : How do I deal with this and what can I do to help him?

Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
I suggest you do behavioural modification training for him. You need to reward his good behaviour with whatever he considers important and he wants like extra computer time or night out with friends. For his work refusal you need to withhold his favourite things like TV time or pocket money. Reward and consequences should be relevant to him.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
