How Frequent Or Unusual Is It For A Patient With

How frequent or unusual is it for a patient with advanced Alzheimer's disease to begin to have what appear to be Flashbacks to violent events in her life 45-50 years earlier? My wife was badly beaten in her first marriage and suffered TBIs leaving evidence of brain bleeding as well as scar tissue. Now she will occasionally cry out "please don't beat me I am bleeding". She then goes into a real defense mode and will fight being touched. The only thing I can tie this to is her long ago beatings.
