How Effective Is An I-pill In Preventing Pregnancy?

Me and my boyfriend had sex September 23rd. He ejaculate(around 8:15am) and I got off to find the condom ripped, the rip was pretty big almost to the side but still in the middle. I asked him if there was anything and he said just a little. I decided to go to the clinic after 72 hours. Because I haven t gotten my period this whole month I took a pregnancy test and came out negative. I took the Plan B pill at 2:30P.M instead of 8:30A.M. Should I be worried about taking the pill 78 hours after intercourse ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Emergency contraceptive pills are effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. I - pill is most effective when taken immediately after unprotected intercourse. Efficacy declines as time elapses between sex and drug administration. But it is reasonably effective for up to 120 hours and perhaps longer. However, you should remember that it is more effective the sooner it is taken after unprotected sex. However, it is not 100% effective, and pregnancy is possible even after its proper and timely use. You can repeat pregnancy test after 7 days.
