How Effective Is Mirilax For Stomach And Intestinal Issues?

I am taking niacin and I am having a lot of stomach and intestinal issues. I belch rotten eggs, I get nausea and lots of gas. I take a small snack after taking my niacin my stomach and intestines have gurgling sounds most of the night. I take it about 30 minutes to an hour before I go to bed. This has been going on for almost 6 months. I have taken some Chinese herbs to help me have bowel movements. They help, but when I stop taking them I go right back to the symptoms above. My doctor does not seem to be worried about this. He did do test and ruled out Chrones disease, and a bunch of other stuff. This month he gave me Mirilax and it made me bleed in my stools. Should I stop taking it and see what happens? Sorry, I can not afford the $15. Thanks anyway!

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Your problem appears to be due to the amoebiasis, or lack of enzymes, or some other infection in the intestines, or lastly may be due to intolarance to the niacin. miralax is a mild laxative ,it has nothing to do with the blood in stools.
I advise you to consult a gastro enterologist for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxaci, ornidazole, omeprazole, domperidone, and advise to stop the niacin.
Avoid taking spices, junk foods, and oily foods.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
