General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Swollen mesenteric nodes are very common in children when they get a bowel infection (viral gastroenteritis for instance). They will swell down spontaneously after the infection is healed.

The treatment the doctor gave is to help the child feel better with the symptoms and meanwhile, while the body heals the infection the lymph nodes will get back to their norm.

I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you.

I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
