How Does A Person Receive Oxygen Rich Blood After The Enlarged Balloon During Angioplasty?

Excuse me, Doctor, I m a student in going to 6th grade in Brooklyn. I have a question on the angioplasty. When the surgery is in progress, in the part of enlarging the balloon, is the balloon is going to block the blood from continuing the flow of blood because it s in the way. Then how are patients able to receive oxygen-rich blood after the enlarged balloon.

Hello
Your's is a very valid question. But during angioplasty when the balloon is inflated its duration is mostly limited to 30. - 60 seconds which causes no harm to myocardium supplied by vessel. I hope I have solved your query.
