How Difficult Is The Surgery Of Removal Of Pancreas And How Will Life Be Withiut Pancreas?
I have had a partial pancreatectomy with auto isle cell transplant and spleenectomy done in December 2012....still having many bouts of pancreatitis and surgeon is recommending removal of 10% of pancreas which was left in...how difficult will this surgery be and how will life be without a pancreas?
Hi. 10 % of pancreas may not be really helpful if it is not sufficiently working. Are you on pancreatic supplement and insulin- This has to go lifelong. Surgery may be a bit difficult due to fibrosis of previous surgery.
