How Could The Scars On The Lungs Be Recognized?

Hi, Im 23 yrs old, female. I was diagnosed PTB in 2011 and undergo 6 months medication. After 2 years i have my annual check and my xray shows i have minimal, ptb right. How will i know if i have scars in my lungs? when all my xray results doesn t have an impression of scarring in my lungs?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
Any lung infection especially TB heals by
1. Fibrosis
2. Calcification
3. Bronchiectasis
4. Rarely complete resolution.
So the lesion in your present chest x ray must be due to healed scar. But we need to prove this. So consult pulmonologist and get done
1. CT THORAX
2. Bronchoscopy and BAL (Broncho Alveolar Lavage) analysis to rule out TB.
CT gives more detailed examination of lung parenchyma and easily diagnose healed scar.
Bronchoscopy and BAL if negative , than this is another evidence of scar in your lung and not infection.
