How Can Weakness In The Legs And Severe Fatigue Be Treated?

My 96 year young mother living independently suddenly became anemic. Her doc put her on iron and told her to ear red meat one time a weeek. Her red cell count stayed low so he went to red meat 3 times a week. Suddenly she couldn t walk the length of half a foot ball field with bone tired fatigue. Doc took all kinds of tests and last were endo and colo.. thank God everything test came back clear. But suddenly she has to and wants to because of weakness move from independent to assisted living. Her current meds are: Claritin Gaviscon taken faithfully every night for indigestion Norvasc Ad air Also antidepressants Melatonin. She has the slow macular degeneration. I noticed that Advair could cause and she realized she could take less. I feel that my mother whose doc is at Mayo Jacksonville is not getting correct Dx and medication. My husband who sadly passed away last year was a physician, internal medicine. Please give some insight as I can t loose her now. The final Has to do with her diverticuli eating the red cells and he has her on Feosol. Could you please give some input?

Hi,

As per my clinical experience, the current presentation suggests the medications are going on a perfect basis, with additional inputs to get her better:
- Balanced nutritious diet.
- Supplement of vitamin D3 and calcium.
- Multivitamins and protein supplement.
- Regular walking, yoga, light exercises at home.
- Moral support of family members.
- Analgesic as and when required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
