How Can Vomiting Be Treated While On Zyprexa?

My 27 year old son has a diagnosis of OCD and Dissociative Identity Disorder. He has been taking 5 mg of Zyprexa a.m. and 30 mg at bedtime. He has been vomiting almost every night and today he vomited a second time around 11:00. I am wondering if breaking up his dosage throughout the day may help with the stomach upset.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is common with Zyprexa especially on the initial days of usage.

You can take antacids/antiemetic combination like pantoprazole/domperidone for symptomatic relief.

If you could not tolerate the side effects, you can consult a psychiatrist and ask for alternatives.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
