How Can Vitiligo Be Treated?

Hi doctor my 15 years old daughter have a patch of resistant vitiligo under her chin and it is spreading very slowly upwards over a period of eight years she was treated with many steroid topical creams and photography but with no response finally a doctor prescribed her methotrexate injection 1/2 cm per week for 6 monthes is it effective. and is it safe for a young girl like her and thanks for your help

It has its risks. It is very dangerous in pregnancy. But with local injection the amount given is minimized as is the risk. It is a chemotherapy drug and can lower the amount of cells i the blood. This is really rare to occur even with pills and far rarer with local injection amounts.
