How Can Urinary Tract Infection Be Treated?

I have had a urinary problem for 8 months. I have been given many different kinds of medicine. The last was 10 doses (every other day) of fosfomycin. I was in Vanderbilt Hospital 4 days. It is back and I am seeing a Infectious disease dr. However, today I find out it is not gone. I am allergic to Sulphur drugs. It looks like I will be taking fosfomycin again. Can you take too much of it?
