How Can Unwanted Pregnancy Be Prevented?

Hi doctor. I have been using ovarl L for the past 3 years without any sideeffects. But i stopped taking it last year around march aftr I broke with my boyfriend. Since then my periods were normal untill august. Aftr august periods were very irregular like once in 2 months. I had my periods in October. And then i had to take ipill in Nov first week. After that no periods untill Dec last week around new year. And since then i am still waitin for it to start, now it is second week of Feb. Meanwhile i have noticed an increase in the quantity of discharge. Do u suggest me to start taking OvarlL since i have active sex life agian. Or should I wait for my periods to start naturally. Because my guy insists on precautions.and i hve not taken ipill aftr that. Please help.

Hi,

If you are sexually active you would definitely need contraceptive pills. However in presence of amenorrhea, you must rule out pregnancy first by doing pregnancy test. Once pregnancy is ruled out you can start your pill on day second of your cycle. Until that you should use other methods of contraception.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
