How Can Tonsillitis In A Toddler Be Treated?

My 3 year old daughter has been recommended to remove her tonsils by her doctor. She gets tonsillitis 4-5 times per year. She is always given antibiotics & pain killers to treat her condition but it reoccurs. How safe is removing her tonsils? can I only remove 1 or a small part of both or any one. what are the disadvantages of removing them? Is it true that it affects speech & the sound of your voice?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
She is an ideal candidate for Tonsillectomy (removal of tonsils).
Recurrent tonsillitis in children should be treated with tonsillectomy.
There is no role of tonsils now.
Tonsillectomy won't affect speech or voice.
Tonsillectomy will prevent exposure of multiple antibiotic, painkiller drugs in children.
So don't wait, just go for Tonsillectomy.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
