How Can Tobacco Addiction Be Treated?

I have a 51 yr. old son, who has COPD, and he is currently on Atrovent. He has been on several other brands, and he still smokes rolled tobacco , of the worst kind ( pipe tobacco ). He doesn t want to stop smoking, but he s tired of the chest pains in the heart area. I told him that eventually nothing is going to work, because he s using the inhaler as a crutch . He s afraid of doctors and medication, but he knows that he s in a bad shape. What can be done for a person like that ?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are need to send him to deaddiction center.
In deaddiction center, they provide psychological counseling and motivation to quit smoking.
They also offer nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to kill urge of smoking.
This is the only option way to quit his habit.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
