How Can Throbbing Head Pain With Numbness Be Treated?

I am having a throbbing pain in my head on the right side that feels like a vericose vein. There is some numbness running down to my ear from the top of my head on the right side. It is painful to touch. I have type 1 diabetes since 1980 and many complications including vascular disease. I have had this before but it is particularly bad today and persisting.
