How Can This Abdominal Knot Which Is Painful Be Treated?

I have Gastroperesis, GERD, hiatial hernia, and Gastritis. I am a female, age 27. I am 4'11 and weigh 76 pounds, and I am concerned about a knot that's in the lower right side of my abdomen, along my panty line. I am always tender in that area, and the knot expands and contracts frequently, very painful. My doctor ran a CT Scan of my stomach and that particular area is in question. He wants to perform a colonoscopy. Should I be concerned about this knot? What could this be?
