How Can Thigh Pain, Caused Post Cortisone Injections In The Knees, Be Treated?

I have a constant pain on my left thigh on the upper side. I had cortisone injections in my knees in April and the pain in my thigh began shortly thereafter. No matter what I do, there is no relief. It is difficult to climb stairs and when I sit for a while, it is difficult to stand up. Once I move around, the pain lessens, but it is always there.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

The pain you are experiencing on upper thigh after cortisone injection in your knees in April is not related to Cortisone shot in your knees.
It could be due to any pelvic joint issues (inflammation) or due to soft tissue inflammation.

Get it further checked by rheumatologist.
Meanwhile, I advise to take:
- anti-inflammatory med orally
- apply anti-inflammatory cream locally
- take multivitamin supplement containing vit.B, calcium, D, and magnesium.

Wish fast recovery.
