How Can Swollen Tonsils With White Spots, Fever And Ear Pain Be Treated?

I have had extremely swollen tonsils for about 4 days now combined with white patches, fever, and ear pain. I have been taking antibiotics, but my pain and swelling have not been reduced. Today I found black patches on my tonsils in addition to the white parts.

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain extremely swollen tonsils along with fever and ear pain seems to be probably due to a viral throat infection along with secondary bacterial infection..
White pustules are pus pockets that further confirms towards bacterial infection..

Pain in ears can be a radiating pain from infected throat, rather it can also be due to ear infection, secondary to throat infection as the ear and throat are connected via Eustachian tube..

For confirmation consult an Otolaryngologist or an ENT expert and get evaluated..
He can do investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..

You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like Augmentin OR Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain. -----Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
