If you're an otherwise healthy person just popping OTC water pills to see the number on the scale change, you run the risk of taking too high of a dose if you down more than the directed amount—and since those drugstore aisle meds probably aren't regulated, it's hard to say if the recommended dose is even safe.
Also some of them are not FDA approved and one can never know how much of the substance mentioned on the wrapper is present or is present at all or no.
What you are doing is starving yourself of essential electrolytes that are being thrown out of your body along with water. This is the reason why your lower extremity is swollen too. Also the cramps are due to the same reason.

In my idea harming yourself just to be accepted by the world in a particularly defined body is not done. I think the best way is to taper them down now and check your Blood Pressure regularly during the process. There may be wild swings and you may experience dizziness and falls .So be careful. If the high BP persists get the help of any physician and get a proper Antihypertensive.

Godspeed.
