How Can Swelling On The Face Be Treated?

For years, if I bite my lips or inside my mouth or accidentally hit any place on my face, after several hours it starts to swell. I am a diabetic for years and I take medicines for it as well as high blood pressure medicines. Is this problem has to do anything with the medicines that I take?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Swelling of face that occurs on trauma can be due to inflammation and accumulation of inflammatory fluids into the tissues..

Swelling is a common phenomena after traumatic injury but in case if it happens even on minor trauma and there is bruising then you should consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..

You can be advised tests for CBC, x-ray, bleeding time, clotting time , Prothrombin time etc..
You can do cool compresses over the swelling and take pain relievers to reduce pain and swelling..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
