Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had bed bug bites on my upper eyelid last night and my whole eye nearly swelled shut, but not quite, so i put ice on it all day and there is fluid under the eye now and it is also swollen, i have put some alcohol on it and ice i am taking anitbiotics and zyrtec for allergy, but it is very uncomfortable. Is there anything else i can do??
What precautions you have taken by applying ice pack and medications you have been taking seems to be fine. Swelling should come down in a day or two. You can add anti-inflammatory medication namely Ibuprofen twice daily after food.
Kindly continue all the medications. If the swelling doesn't come down in two days or is causing other symptoms pertaining to eye, you need to consult Opthalmologist for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
