How Can Swelling In The Ankles Be Treated?

I slipped on the stairs more than a month ago. Iced ankle for 48 hrs (20 min on 20 min off). Went to see an ortho guy. Told me to wear the boot for a couple of weeks. It was 90 degrees out. Very uncomfortable. Ankle still swells up. In the morning it is normal size. What should I do?

Hello there. welcome to healthcare magic.
Thanks for your query.

After going through your history you seem to have soft tissue injury of ankle.( Ligament tear ) of ankle. which will take usually 6 weeks to 8 weeks. If you walk too much it may take more time. So wait and take rest. It wil will be fine in some days .
sweeping wil will come down once ligament heals completely.

I hope this solves your query
