How Can Swelling And Pain In The Thumb Be Treated?

I ve been to the hospital twice now, with a suspected scaphoid fracture, and they are pretty sure that it is a fracture. However, they say that they can t put a cast on without X-rays confirming a fracture. So they ve given me a brace to wear which I ve had on for three weeks. My snuffbox area is swollen, I cannot move my thumb at all and i can hardly turn my wrist. The brace seems to be doing absolutely nothing. Is there anything at all that can be done instead?

hi there
scaphoid fracture is very notirious
it is difficult to detect early on x-ray
it's usual to give bracing or cast initially and
later again x-ray is taken to check scaphoid fracture
We can always check with bone scan
it's already 3 weeks get fresh x-ray or MRI
hope you will get well soon
