How Can Stage-IV Pancreatic Cancer Be Treated?

My brother has Stage IV pancreatic/liver cancer. He was diagnosed the first of October and has only had one treatment of Gemzar and Abraxane, which he did not do well with; he had a toxic reaction to the Abraxane. There have been so many delays along the way that I feel he is beyond any kind of improvement. He is scheduled to begin Folfirinox next week, but has become almost too weak to walk yesterday and today. Are we entering the very end stage?
