How Can Soreness In The Finger Joints Be Treated?

I have had a sore finger joint for a couple of years. I was awakened with intense pain in that joint about 3:00 AM this morning and thought I should see a doctor . However, after getting up, moving around and applying Aspercreme the pain greatly decreased and I thought it was going away. About 8:00 PM the pain returned and the finger began to swell. I have again applied Aspercreme and taken two 200 mg of Alleve about 9:30 PM. The pain remains intense and I will not be able to sleep without some relief.

Hi,

This sounds like arthritis and such attacks are common in gout . You need to get your uric acid level checked and if it is gout you need to be treated with febuxostat.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
