How Can Sore Throat Be Treated?

Hi I am having sore throat for two days. Had betadine gargle three times a day and apple cedar vinegar regularly. There is no improvement so far When I went to pharmacy he gave me curam 1g for 7 days * 2 times and clarinase similar dosage though I had no congestion or whiteness in my throat Do you advise me to Meds or should take others? Thanks in advance Regards Umar

Hi,

Thanks for query. Sore throat as per your query seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to

- Do warm saline gargles.
- Avoid oily and sharp food.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Apply mist humidifiers in room.
- Take throat lozenges.
- Avoid cold carbonated beverages.

Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with throat swab test and blood tests and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Take proper course of antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory medications.

Best Wishes,
Harry Maheshwari
