Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM,
If the
cough has started within a few days of your
sore throat it is very likely you are going through a viral infection causing you all those symptoms but this can not be said for sure unless you are examined. It is important to do a visit and your doctor might test your throat to see for bacteria present and make sure of the cause of the sore throat.
Something very important that I noticed while reading your concerns is the number of medications that you are using and the fact that you are at risk of allergies and also overdose to certain medications, especially the
allergy medications and pain killers as they are part of many
cold medications, so combining several cold medications might put you in risk of overdose and posion.
There are several possible causes of the
rash you are having:
1. If you have used an antibiotic and having rash it is a high risk that you might be developing allergy to it or even allergy to the rest of medications you are using.
2. Rash can happen with viral infections also and most of the time is self limiting and disappears on it's own and without a problem
3. there are also complications with rash that can happen while we have sore throat that need medical attention.
I would advised you to see your doctor to make sure:
1. you are not developing allergy to the medications you are using
2. and to know for sure if you should use antibiotics or not.
Penicilline is a good drug for bacterial
tonsillitis but you need to make sure you do have bacterial tonsillitis or a viral infection (which does not need antibiotics) and if you are safe to take penicilline or you need another antibiotic to avoid allergy.
These are important questions and it is safer that a doctor that examines you answers to them.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question but please let us know if any questions or concerns.
Best regards
