How Can Side Effects Of Levothyroxine Be Treated?

hi my name is abbie im 18 and i have questions about a medication iv been taking for over five yrs , its called levothyroxine - mcg:125 . if im having some of the side effects what should i do ? im not really fond of going to the doctor but should i go to my doctor ?

Hi,

Levothyroxine is a thyroid hormone replacement. If you are having what you think are side effects, it may be that the dose is not currently right, so the best thing to do is to go in to your doctor who will likely want to check your TSH and T4 levels to see if you are in a good range.

If you are having side effects not to the dose but to something in the medication itself, there are other formulations of thyroxine, but usually Levothyroxine is the one most tolerated.
