How Can Sex Drive Reduced Due To Graves Disease, Be Improved?

My boyfriend found out a year ago he has Graves disease the doctor put him on very high doses of beta blockers, he has been off them for 3-4 months but his sex drive has never come back. He is only 49 years old and we are very inlive but the lack of sexual intimacy is tearing us apart. Will his sex drive ever recover? Is there any safe supplements that may help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Use of beta Blockers may cause erectile dysfunction. Hence, your partner is unable to perform well, upset with it and having less sex drive.
Kindly reassure him about this and spend more time with foreplay to bring him to the mood.
He needs to take medications to get and sustain erection like Tadalafil, 30 minutes before the act.
Include in the diet - almonds, banana, pineapple, saffron, cardamom, figs, honey and pumpkin, which would help to get better erection.
Also use of behavioural therapy by practice of 'pause and squeeze' technique would help him to attain more confidence and improve performance.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
