How Can Severe Vertigo And Vomiting Be Treated?

My mom was taking to ER on Saturday with extreme vertigo causing vomiting. She was newly dx in ER with paroxysmal afib. HR up to 160 bpm. Once they slowed her HR down she quickly converted back to normal sinus rhythm. She felt like her tongue was swollen and continues to have some slight slurring and feels wobbly . The doctors thought this would resolve within a couple of days. Have you ever heard of this following an afib episode that caused vertigo?
