How Can Severe Sore Throat Be Treated?

I have had an extremely sore throat for 10 days. In the past 3 days, I have also had nasal drainage. I have been gargling with salt water, drinking tea with lemon and honey and taking an occasional Tylenol. Is there anything else I should be doing to get this discomfort to stop. 10 days feels like a very long time. Thanks

Are there other symptoms associated with your throat pain and nasal discharge like fever? or cough? or dyphagia? If you also have fever, specifically high-grade, you might be having a bacterial tonsillopharyngitis and might need to take antibiotics already. Have your blood checked. CBC with platelet count may be of great help with diagnosing this.
