For the past three days I have had excruciating back pain in my ribs mainly focused underneath my shoulder blade. I’m getting over a cold, so I assumed that it was just a pulled muscle from coughing so much. Whenever I breathe too deeply I trigger the pain, if I cough I trigger the pain, if I stand/sit up straight I trigger the pain, when I lift my arm I trigger the pain, when I lay down I trigger the pain when I’m sitting up from laying down I trigger the pain it’s the most painful when going from laying down or laying flat on my back. Today the newest development was when I went to lay down I am now experiencing excruciating pain in the front right of my rib cage on the right at the bottom of my breast too. It all feels like it’s within my rib cage, like it’s caving in on me. All of this is so painful it brings me to tears, especially the first night and tonight. The first night I almost couldn’t get up, I had to roll onto my side to get up. Tonight I experienced similar discomfort and the majority of the pain was in the front rib area (right side). I don’t know what’s wrong. I’m trying to get through this. I’ve been using bio freeze, but it makes no difference. I’m starting to think this is not a pulled muscle. Please tell me what to do or how to relieve this pain. I can’t call out from work right now.
