Did you over exert to cause the muscle pain? In such a case the most important aspect of the treatment is to give complete rest to the muscle groups involved. Heating pad, pain killers can be used and would help. However the main therapy is rest. f the muscle fibers have been injured severely, it may even take 3 to 4 weeks of rest to the muscles for good healing.
