How Can Severe Pain In The Legs Be Treated?

I have a bulging disc in the lower part of my back ......also have spinal stenosis.My legs have started cramping when I move them certain ways ....last week I turned over in bed and had terrible pain in the top of my legs it hurt so bad I cried.Do I have to have surgery for my condition.....a doctor said he would go through my stomach and fuse my vertebrae......this scares me to death.

I can understand being afraid of spinal surgery but you would have to carefully weigh the pros and cons of surgery.

Your doctor would need to discuss the prognosis of your present condition, the nature of the surgery , the success rate of the surgery and the risks of complications.
You also need to know if there are any factors that can be modified that would to adjust success rate, if there is any thing that can be done to increase the chance of success
