How Can Severe Pain In The Feet Be Treated?

I took etodolac for many years (8 or more). I went to see a podiatrist about the pain in my feet. especially my 2 great toes. He said that he would not leave a patient on an NSAID for so long. I asked should I stop taking it and he said it wouldn t hurt to try. I then weaned myself off of the etodolac. Now I have lots of pain. In my feet, neck, shoulders and now a new one (my thumbs). what do you think of what he told me?
