How Can Severe Pain After A Dental Surgery Be Treated?
HI THERE, I JUST HAD A COMPLICATED DENTAL SURGERY. I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THE DENTIST NOT TO PRESCRIBE OXYCONTIN BECAUSE IT DOESN T WORK FOR ME. I SUGGESTED HYSINGLA ER, BECAUSE MY BODY REJECTS ACETAMETAPHIN AND IBUPROPHEN. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE DENTIST PRESCRIBED OXYCONTIN AND DID NOT LISTEN TO THE FACTS ABOUT MY ALLERGIC REACTIONS TO THESE MEDS. WHAT DO I DO, I M IN SEVERE PAIN! STEPHANIE BUKASKE
You should not take any medicine that you are already known allergic too. Also, it is not Hydrocontin, but it is Hydrocodone only. So first make sure that you are okay taking Hydrocodone aa Hysingla ER also continue Hydrocodone.
So you should consult an emergency room and get evaluated. You can be advised an allergy test to rule out compatible painkillers. Tramadol, Ketorolac etcetera can be checked, and if safe it can be advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
