How Can Severe Itching In The Feet Be Treated?

I am, experiencing an issue with my feet. They itch and burn to the point of full discomfort, especially when I get out of the shower. The problem has gone on for about a week, and I have tried everything (vaseline, soaking in antiseptic mouthwash, athletes foot cream/spray). It is making me crazy. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand the extent of your discomfort. Try using calamine lotion on your feet immediately after a shower. Keep them dry and clean always. Is there any scaling of the skin? Your symptoms are suggestive of urticaria. If the symptoms persist after the above method, you could approach your clinician for a steroid containing cream like Clobetasone. Once you start, do not discontinue abruptly. You will need to taper it off. I hope this helps relieve the burning and itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
