How Can Severe Headache Be Treated?

I had nasal surgery and septoplasty 10 days ago. I was put on oxycodone/acetaminophen. My prescription is almost out and doctor s office says they don t prescribe more oxycodone. But I m having incredibly painful headaches and don t know if I should keep taking oxy or just stop and deal with the headache pain. (I haven t taken opioids pain mess since major surgery 25 years ago). Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Oxycodone is a medicine that causes dependence. This is why I suggest you to try relieving the pain with other options like anti-inflammatory medicine such as Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
