How Can Severe Diarrhea After Taking Doxycycline Hyclate Be Treated?

I had a very small tic removed from top of my thigh by dr. Yesterday. The tic couldn t have been there long because I didn t see it when I showered earlier. Dr gave me Rx Doxycycline HYC 100 mg. I have a very sensitive stomach and have severe diarrhea when I try to take medicine. A very tiny spot is where the tic was. Can I wait to take this antibiotic if I start feeling bad? I would rather not take it at all. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You are very right. All tic bites do not mean infections. If you are sensitive to antibiotics, you need not use it. You can wait as all bites don't cause infections. However, if you develop a fever or the rash increases then you should urgently talk to your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
