Hello, I am 44 year old married female with 3 children, one of which is special needs. My vibrant mother died suddenly of a heart attack 6 months ago and I am devastated. I can t get myself together, I feel so weak and cry all the time. I feel like the grief is overwhelming. She was the best Mom and I miss her terribly. I have much stress in my life and I feel like I can not focus or function.

Hi,

I do understand your emotions. The depression spell when we loose loved one, should clear itself after around a month or so. In your case, you are saying it is more than 6 months. You should consult a psychiatrist for treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. K. V. Anand,
Psychologist
