How Can Severe Crohn S Disease Be Treated In A Person Allergic To Sulfates?

my husband has had crohns for 27 years.3 years ago,the doctor he is seeing gave him steroid shots every month or so until his adrenals failed and know is stuck on 8mg of prednisone a day with shots once a month to 90 days.He is very sick, the pain is unbearable, his lungs are now shot and he wants to know if he has a chance of ever getting off of the steroids.i know its not enough info.He is also allergic to sulfates so that makes things more complicated.

hi, crohns disease is unfortunately a long standing disease with poor outcome. have you tried metrionidazole and biologics? there are showing promise recently. you were kept on steroids as a life saving measure. so no regrets. all you need is a fresh consultation with a good Gastroenterologist who deals with crohns. Hope this helped.
