How Can Severe Acne On The Face Be Treated?

Hi doctor i have severe acne on my cheeks on the time of pop out the acne first come inside the skin then after 2 3 days it comes out and become a little big and red and also solid i suffring from this last 4 years. For treatment i am using clindamycin phosphate and nicotinamide gel twice in a day and also using salicylic acid and vitamine E face wash named as klmklin face wash for oily and acnegenic skin but last 3 years since i am using these medicines there are no such effect on my cheeks. acne pop up does not stop what should i do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have synmptoms of severe acne on the face which is mainly because of the fact that you have cystic acne which is severst form of acne and pores of your skin become clogged and because of clogging of debris and leads to formation of pus.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Apply gel containing clindamycin in the morning and benzoyl peroxide at night time.

- Don't use any cosmetics containing much chemicals and avoid use of topical steroids.

- Use medicated sunscreen.

- Exfoliate your skin once a week.

- Take diet rich in multivitamins.

You should visit dermatologist once and get yourself examined and start treatment accordingly.
