How Can Sciatic Pain In The Hips And Legs Be Treated?

I do not know if my problem is in my hip or leg. I have a pressing sensansation near my sciatic nerve. My upper leg often quivers and my lower leg feel weak. Standing or walking fr an extended time makes it worse, as does carrying anything even slightly heavy. An MRI showed problems win my back. I don t know whom to see next.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I reviewed your query and here is advise.
I think you should see an orthopaedic doctor. He will examine you and will see the MRI to diagnose you.
From what you describe is a herniated bulking disc suppressing the isciatic nerve roots.
Use ibuprofen or naproxen for pain.
Take rest for 48 hours.
Use ice compresses.
Maybe your doctor will refer you to physiotherapy.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
