How Can Scalp Infection Be Treated?

I am so afraid, three months ago my head started really burning and itching, the doctors gave me a steroid shot and antibiotics for cellulitis , it got better. I now have it again , I can feel some small lumps on my scalp. I have tinted my hair for years, last three times it set my head on fire, have not used tint since I had my first episode. Is it curable or is it a recurring diease?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern.

As you said it is recurrent, some times because of too much oil in head blocks the glands and causes foliculitis. Which is recurrent, you need to wash you head daily and avoid application of any hair oil too.

Diabetic patients or pre-diabetic one also have recurrent furancle formation on head scalp, you need to get a fasting blood sugar done to rule out any high blood sugar level.

You can take antibiotics like Amoxycilin clavulinic acid in consultation with your doctor to get it cured.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further assistance required.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
